Echome was assembled with prints made from vintage glass negatives, Kodak 35 mm and 2 1/4” negatives, and digital images made with an iPhone. Almost all the work began with imperfect fragments. The task? Making something of it.
Collages were pieced together with darkroom test strips and light-fogged Kodak paper, prints hand-colored with Marshall’s Oils, water damaged photos, handwritten text, sometimes faded flowers, perhaps a shell. Each collage harkens to other places and times, emanates nostalgia – perhaps declares an alternate reality?
Every image in Echome is an attempt to share with others what I ‘see’.
